Who are we
We are 3 people who have been working for years and years in physiotherapy, exercise physiology and administration, of which the last 6 years together in Cairns. Each one of us has always been passionate about making sure that every person that came to us, received the best possible care we could give them, from a clinical, educational, administrative and communication point of view.
The longer we worked in our fields, the more we came to appreciate the value of specialised knowledge for the more complex health issues, diseases, injuries or illnesses. And the more knowledge we gathered and the more we started to specialise in our respective fields, the more we realised that we could actually make a difference to someone’s life, if we banded together. Hence, a new idea was borne. We created our Health Hub here, in Stratford QLD.
We proudly introduce to you our very own Stratford Health Hub.
What do we do
Stratford Health Hub facilitates the delivery of more specialised health services for the Stratford and wider Cairns Community. We do that by providing the various health professionals that are linked to us and specialise in a particular area, with a supportive, friendly & fun place to work from, with access to treatment rooms, a gym, a network, administrative support, collaboration & learning opportunities, and also a good laugh, so they can work well together, run their own businesses as best as possible and look after you the best possible way.
The list of services that operate out of Stratford Health Hub will be growing as the hub is growing and will most likely change over time, so always keep an eye on our website for updates. What we can guarantee though, is that the professionals that do operate out of our Hub, specialise in a particular topic.
At this point in time, we have a dedicated physiotherapist, exercise physiologist and dietician. And in the near future, we will have an occupational therapist joining us too. In more exciting news, talks are underway with a few more specialist clinicians!

We create a network of people around you to help manage your health issues
What we noticed over the years, is that here, in Far North Queensland, we actually don’t have one place where people can go to for their more complex health issues to get specialist advise.
Our health system can sometimes feel very fragmented; you go to one business for that particular therapist, to another business to see your physio or exercise physiologist and another for your dietician, OT or doctor. This is especially true if you are getting older or when your health requires multidisciplinary care after an acute injury or new/ longer standing illness. True multidisciplinary care, where people work together with you AND for you, is not always easy to accomplish.
At Stratford Health Hub, we work within a large network of other specialist and experienced health professionals. Some of them operate out or our hub, others operate out of their own premises. We actually don’t mind where people work; organisational boundaries have never stopped us from getting you the care that you deserve.
We will always work together with others, to get the best possible outcome for you.
We are all about prevention and health promotion
We take an active role in promoting health & wellbeing for our current and prospective clients who want to live well. We do this in a variety of ways. We host education sessions for people about different topics, run by the various professionals that operate out of the hub or by guest speakers. We run a series of exercise classes to help you to prevent or better manage all aspects in life. We will have open days where you can try out our gym and trial the various classes we have on offer or just talk to our exercise physiologist or physiotherapist if what you are experiencing is something that we can help you with. We even run periodic ‘bootcamps’ for people on Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s etc.
You are more than the sum of your parts… we want to know how much you move during the day, what your job and hobby demands are on your body, how you use nutrition to build your health, your social health, your sleep and how you manage any stressors in your life. If we think that any of these contribute to your problem that you are seeing us for, we will address this with you. We may not have all specialities necessarily under this roof to solve this, but we will refer you on into our network of specialists if that is required.
We really want you to feel part of our little community that is our hub
We really care about you, listen to you and put you first.
We want you to feel comfortable with us. We understand how important social connection is for your overall health and want to contribute to this too. This is why we provide group classes, host education sessions and try to create groups of people with a similar background, so you and your family can make that connection if you felt you needed it. The Parkinson’s Divas from FNQ is one of these examples. A newly formed, social group of women with Parkinson’s across all age ranges. We can only imagine that there will be many other groups.
We also want to help you establish new social or support groups or, link you in with existing groups and organisations. We are happy to share our experience and network to help you with this when it is linked to our specialised services. We partner with local community groups where feasible too.
We will have a large coffee table outside with magazines and menus. We actually don’t mind if you arrive early to your appointment. Please have a seat at the coffee table outside, sip a coffee or savour a snack from the beautiful café’s that are so close to us. Their menus are on the table!
Oh and please chat and get to know your neighbour at the table.
We have our very own Stratford Wall of Fame
All too often, when you are in pain, live with a chronic illness or have been diagnosed with a life changing illness or disease, you start to see yourself differently. You may notice things that you may not be able to do so well or fear for things in the future. You start to identify yourself as the ‘pain’, ‘disability’ or ‘disease’. Sometimes people even forget who they really are at their core and what they are actually capable off.
In our Hub, we actually see people for who they are. Disease, diagnosis, illnesses or pain, none of these define you. We see people with character, personality, talents, and lots of abilities, on the background of pain, a medical diagnosis or illness. We also want you to see yourself the way we see you. We want you to focus on what you CAN do; not just what you can’t do.
That is why we have a dedicated ‘wall of fame’ in our hub. We want share and celebrate people’s accomplishments, paintings, potteries, other artworks, books, performances, you name it, we celebrate it.
Send us a photo of what you create or bring it in. We will showcase it.
We would love for you to join us
We are very blessed in Cairns that there are so many talented clinicians and health providers, each with their own specialty. That is exactly why we just stick to the things we are good at and/or specialise in; and refer to others who are really good and or specialise in their respective field. And we enjoy creating and maintaining these professional relationships because it leads to better outcomes for everyone involved.
If you specialise in a particular area and are looking for a new place to work from, we would be very honoured if you wanted to come and operate out of our rooms. You can work from our hub on a casual or permanent basis, half day (s) or full day(s). You can choose to just rent the room with or without gym, or get the full works with admin support. You can also just rent our gym space to run a class, outside of the regular clinic hours.
Many things are possible with us. Why don’t you come and talk to us over a cuppa at one of the beautiful restaurants and coffee spaces we have here and discuss how we can make this happen together.
